Rwanda’s road vulnerability to climate-change has increased steadily in the last decades. MININFRA/RTDA has committed to strengthen its adaptive capacity, by integrating climate change aspects into planning and design of road transport infrastructure. To this end, a three-year project was officially commenced on April 16, 2019, as a component under the upgrading of the 125 km Base-Gicumbi-Rukomo-Nyagatare road section financed by the Government of Rwanda and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
