COP30

The 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) will take place from 10–21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil. This global event will bring together world leaders, policymakers, and climate champions to accelerate action to tackle climate change and inspire collective efforts for a sustainable future. Rwanda’s delegation to COP30 will continue the country’s active role in shaping global climate discussions and driving ambitious climate action.

Rwanda's Goals at COP30

At COP30, Rwanda’s delegation will advocate for stronger global emissions reductions, call for increased financing for resilience and adaptation, and position the country as a leading destination for green investment and innovation.

The delegation — which includes representatives from government, the private sector, and civil society — will push for the operationalization of the New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG) on Climate Finance, ensuring that it delivers scaled-up, accessible, and predictable funding of not less than USD 1.3 trillion annually. Rwanda will also call for major emitters to accelerate emissions reductions to keep global warming below the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement

Key initiatives will include showcasing Rwanda’s NDC 3.0, highlighting progress in implementing its updated NDC (NDC 2.0), and sharing the impact of the country’s climate action efforts on resilience, adaptation, and low-carbon development.
